The One Where We Crashed Altaf's Pad

My flight from PDX to SFO left at 4:15 yesterday. I was supposed to meet Sajid, Mohamad, Zaiba and Farrah at SFO since my flight arrived first, so I got my bag and got on the Sky Train to head towards the car rental place where we were supposed to meet. An hour and a half later, the four of them joined me and we got into our rental van and headed towards Rashid's house. Upon arriving, we walked into his backyard and were met with the rest of the volunteers from the program. After mingling/eating/praying Maghrib, we all gathered into the living room so we could formally introduce ourselves. Aysha introduced the icebreaker (two truths and a lie) and we went around introducing ourselves. It turned out to be pretty interesting, since some people had some pretty amazing truths to share! After that we played Taboo and then the Hyderabad Medical group went home with Altaf. It was about 45 minutes away, and since the four of us had pretty much spent all day traveling we were all exhausted, and ended up going to bed at around 12:30 am.

Today was orientation at the IMRC Headquarters in Palo Alto! It was long, but a lot of fun. Afterwards we split up again and went back to change/rest for a bit before meeting up for dinner. We ate at Bang San, a halal thai restaurant in San Francisco, then went to see the Golden Gate Bridge! I've been here before, but it was hilarious to see how excited those who have never seen the bridge before got. It was FREEZING. We headed over to Ghirardelli Square and got ice cream, then headed home again.

  3. I wonder if Zaynah included two truths and a lie in her blog post. Wouldn't that create quite the interesting twistaroo?
