The One Where I Prepare For The Trip

As one of the 5 people participating in the Hyderabad Medical Program, I will be documenting our thoughts, experiences, and encounters throughout the next few weeks. My name is Zaynah Chowdhury, and I just finished my undergraduate studies in Molecular/Cellular Biology and Physiology at the University of Arizona. My interests in this program stem from my interest in public health and my aspirations to work in the medical field, so I am really looking forward to all the great things we'll be seeing and doing!

Preparing for this trip has been quite the challenge, since I've been trying to fit only the bare essentials for the next few weeks into a small suitcase. I'm glad I started early with getting the visa and immunizations, and sorting out the itinerary and getting the proper medications. Now, all packed and ready to go, I look forward to meeting everyone at the orientation in Palo Alto tomorrow! I'll admit I'm a little nervous about going on this adventure with completely new people, but the anticipation of what we have in store for us once we reach India assuages all doubts. My parents are still freaking out, but they wouldn't have let me go if they didn't think I was in good hands :)
